The Reading Room offers a safe and welcoming environment for researchers, theorists, artists, and curators to explore a diverse selection of books, objects, and archival materials from the Library and Archive of the IYP Collection.

The space hosts a curated range of thematic sections, including subjects such as women’s historiesfolk culturegeographyshipping, and social history. Visitors will also find rare art books, journals, exhibition catalogues, and significant works of literature on its shelves. Our staff are on hand to answer any queries about our items.

*The IYP Collection’s Library and Archive are currently in the process of being organized. During this transitional period, researchers may access part of the material by appointment only.

Reading room regulations:
Researchers may access archival material included in the Collection’s database under the following conditions:

1.

Digital images and audiovisual material are available strictly for study and research purposes. They may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed in any form. Copyright remains with the artists or original rights holders. For any intent to publish or otherwise use this material, users must seek and obtain written permission from the respective copyright holders.

2.

Researchers may consult all documented archival content, except for material that includes personal data. Special permission is required for access to such items.

3.

The use of portable scanners, cameras, or other recording devices is not permitted in the Reading Room.

4.

Books, catalogues, and archival materials may not be borrowed or removed from the premises.

Researchers who make use of the Collection’s Library or Archive in their academic or artistic work are kindly requested to submit a copy of their publication, thesis, or essay to the IYP Collection, acknowledging the use of its resources.
